Ngwe Saung Beach

Ngwe Saung Beach is second best beach in Myanmar with its white send and blue water. It is 9 miles (15km) long all along the beach full of modern hotels and resort. There is no flight directly from Yangon to Ngwe Saung Beach. But last year Air Bagan fly to Pathein airport and it takes one hours to go there by car. There is no direct bus from Dagon Ayar Highway bus station in Yangon. The only way you can reach to Ngwe Saung Beach is go to Pathein by Bus early in the morning and catch the Pathein-Ngwe Saung bus from Pathein. Then you can reach there in one day but it is really long bus ride. But you can hire a taxi from Yangon to Ngwe Saung and it takes 5 hours drive. Other options is there is one bus that leave every Friday morning from Central hotel to Ngwe Saung Beach. If you like to save your money and want direct bus you can choose that way. While you are in Ngwe Saung Beach, you will find information what you can do form your hotel or restaurant you eat. You can go to the bird's net island with fishing boat and snorkeling around the island. Some prefer to go fishing from the lover island as they don't need to pay for the boat to go. There are not many activities you can do expect from relaxing. There is no nightlife you can enjoy like Thailand beaches. If you enjoy riding elephant you can visit elephant camp. The elephant camp is only 15 minutes drive from the beach. You can visit there whether with you hired car or rental motorbike. You can also go to the other beach called Chaungtha Beach with either motorbike or boat. It takes one and half hour boat ride or two hours by motor bike. Going by motorbike is fun but you need to wait for the ferry to cross the river. After you cross three small rivers you will reach Chaungtha Beach. Many hotels in Ngwe Saung beach are very good and expensive. The services you receive are always the best. You can booked the hotel through your travel agent is cheap. You can find five star hotel in Ngwe Saung Beach.
