Myanmar Kachin State is lies in the northern part of Myanmar. Myanmar Kachin shares borders with People's Republic of China in the north and east. India is connected in the west. Kachin State lies on the north of the line of Tropic of Cancer, so the climate of the southern part is warm-temperate and wet whereas the northern part has cold-temperate and wet climate. Highest mountains in the north are always covered with snow. In the lowland areas, the average temperature in summer being 26° C (80° F) and winter the temperature is a little more than that in Kachin Myanmar. The capital of the Kachin Myanmar state is Myitkyina. Other important towns include Bhamo.

Kachin Myanmar State has Myanmar's highest mountain called Hkakabo Razi, at 5889 meters in height, forming the southern tip of the Himalayas, and Myanmar's largest lake, Indawgyi Lake. Myanmar highest Mountain, Hkakabo Razi is Southeast Asia's highest mountain, located in the northern Myanmar Kachin State. The peak is enclosed within Hkakabo Razi National Park. It is entirely mountainous and is characterized by broad-leaved evergreen rain forest, a sub-tropical temperate zone from 8,000 ft. to 9,000 ft. Indawgyi Lake is the largest inland lake in Southeast Asia too. It is located in Mohnyin Township of Kachin State in Myanmar. The lake measures 8 miles east to west, and 15 miles north to south. There are over 20 villages around the lake in Myanmar Kachin State.

In Myanmar, Kachin State is famous for Jade mining. Phakant, Haungpa, Tawhmaw, Lonkin and other regions in the upper reaches of U-ru River. Nansakha gem-land is located in Mansi township of Bhamo district. A small amount of amber can be extracted in the Hukaung valley. Gold can be panned out from rivers and creeks in Myanmar Kachin State. Salterns are in Kamaing Township and Hukung valley. The predominant ethnic groups living in the surroundings of the lake are the Shan and the Kachin, who mainly practice agriculture in Myanmar. The mean cultivation is paddy and other like millet, winter-groundnut, mustard, sesame, maize, potato, sunflower, beans, and pulses are grow in Myanmar Kachin State too. Myanmar tobacco, vegetables, banana, orange, citron, grapefruit, lychee and mulberry are also grown in Kachin Myanmar state.

Myitkyina Myanmar
Capital of Myanmar Kachin State is Myitkyina, the seat of Myanmar government offices for the region and for official Myanmar Kachin ethnic organizations, is mainly appealing as the starting point for trips to Kachin Myanmar villages in the area. Only a handful or foreign visitors venture Myanmar Kachin State. So it's likely you'll receive lot of friendly attention in Myitkyina. The town is set in a flat valley that is extremely hot in the dry season and very rainy during the monsoon in Myanmar.

Myit Son
Myit-son, 43 km north of Myitkyina Myanmar, at the confluence of the Mayhka and Malihka rivers, is located at the beginning of the great Ayeyarwady River. It is a good place to visit in Myanmar while you are in Kachin State.

Southwest of Kamaing is the huge and serene Myanmar Indawgyi Lake, home to 120 bird species including the Myanmar peacock and surrounded by 30 rarely visited Myanmar villages.

Bhamo
For many, Bhamo (ba-maw), 186 km south of Myikyina is the starting point for a cruise down the mighty Ayeyarwady River to Mandalay. The town itself deserves more attention, though, as it's leafier and more charming than Myitkyina, and blessed with quality accommodation in Myanmar.

Putao
At an elevation of 402 m above sea level, Putao is small and picturesque. During the late British colonial era, a military post called fort Hertz was based in Putao. Most of the populations of around 10,000 are Myanmar Kachin and Lisu Followed by Burma, Shan and various other smaller tribal groups.

Hpakan
